Our customer came to us with the dilemma of having a large garden which was very limited for light. They had some old sensor lighting on the building which didn't work and then nothing around the perimeter of the garden.

They where concerned that it was easy for people to jump the fence and try breaking in but also they would like to use the garden and the hot tub on darker nights.

This is where we come in, for this installation we decided to upgrade the house PIR lighting to start to give the customer some instant functional lighting to be bale to see when coming out of the house. We then surveyed the garden and picked out the key areas of the garden that we could illuminate while also giving some functional light within the garden.

We decided to install 12 spike lights around the perimeter of the garden using some flexible steel conduit to run the cabling to ensure the longevity of what we install. We picked out some key areas, such as some of the beautiful trees and shrubbery, to really give a focus to some of the gardens features. We also gave the hot tub area some ambient light making it a real chill out area on an evening.

We took great care in digging up the original turf so as that it could be relayed while also taking care not to wreck the existing turf by using sheeting to store the mud and turf. We also made it easy for the customer to turn the lighting on (in fact they don't have to do anything) as the lights where controlled via a photocell bringing the lights on when it gets dark but then switching off on the timer when the customer wanted them off.

All in all we really enjoyed this project and the customer was over the moon!
