This customer came to us recently as the summer nights are closing in and they wanted to light up their garden at their home in Leeds. They have a beautifully big garden with a seating area situated just behind their garage.
With this being a big space having adequate light was an issue. They also had a feature apple tree in the garden that they wanted to make a show piece of. The customer wanted something that would give them enough light to sit outside in the summer evenings but also look good decoratively.
So, what did we do…. Well after an on site assessment we noticed the garage had a soffit just behind the guttering. We opted for a 24volt IP65 LED tape system enclosed in a mounting track to give the customer a higher output of light per meter, providing enough useable light for those warmer evenings but also being discrete and decorative.
We also added two ground spike lights with 7w LED lamps to illuminate the apple tree.
And to finish off we used Quinetic wireless switching to provide two wireless switches for the lights, one to be kept in the house so they could switch it on for the comfort of their home and one mounted locally at the seating area so they could use it externally. These switches are a fantastic piece of kit, there is no need for batteries or mains power as they work off kinetic energy to send a signal to the receiver to switch on the lights! 🤯
