Another EV charger installed in Leeds.
This customer contacted us through our car dealership partners prestige cars. They where in the process of purchasing an electric vehicle and needed an EV charger installing.
This one was slightly different to others in the fact that the customers existing fuseboard was old and out of date. This meant we couldn’t connect into that without testing and upgrading the fuseboard.
So, what did we do…..
We opted to split the incoming cables from the main switch so we could install our own EV fuseboard which was separate from the main house fuseboard.
This allowed us to meet all current regulations and still able to fit the EV charger.
We also fitted load balancing clamps to meet DNO requirements. This means if the customer is using lots of energy within the house and the EV charger is charging, it reduces its output to prevent blowing the main fuse.
